BLUE ISLAND, IL — The ultimate celebration of pop/rock and emo music is coming to Blue Island, Saturday, June 7. The Blue Island Gets Warped outdoor music fest takes place behind the iconic Lyric Theater,
Blue Island’s own version of the Warped Tour brings together the top local and regional tribute and cover bands from the Midwest. The all-day, all-ages music festival promises an unforgettable experience of fans of the genre’s most beloved bands.
From the heart-pounding rhythms of early 2000s pop-punk to the soul-stirring melodies of emo classics, the outdoor pop/punk and emo tribute show will transport attendees on a musical journey through the sounds that defined a generation.

The original Warped Tour traveled the United States and Canada every summer from 1995 to 2019. By 2015, the Warped music fest was the longest touring music festival in North America. The Warped Tour was conceived by American music event impresario Kevin Lyman. It stopped in 2020 during the pandemic, but returned for its 30th anniversary in 2025.
The fest features an impressive lineup of talented musicians who meticulously recreate the magic of legendary bands, Blue Island Gets Warped offers something for every music lover. Whether you're a die-hard fan looking to relive your favorite band's greatest hits or a newcomer discovering your love of pop/punk and emo music, the festival provides an immersive experience like no other.

“This is unprecedented for Blue Island,” said Pat Disabato, the live events manager for the historic Lyric Theater. “The Warped Tour hasn’t been around in a number of years. We thought we could bring it back as a tribute show outdoors behind the theater, which hasn’t been done before.”
In addition to bands, Blue Island Gets Warped features local food vendors, alcoholic beverages, a kids section, so parents can corrupt their kids with the kind of music they listened to as teens, and crafters.
General admission and VIP tickets are available for purchase online, giving music enthusiasts the opportunity to customize their festival experience. With ten bands, food vendors, and a vibrant atmosphere, Blue Island Gets Warped is set to become the must-attend music event of the year for fans of energetic, emotional, and incredibly nostalgic music.
“We wanted to showcase Blue Island,” Disabato said. “We want people to walk around and look at the beautiful homes and cool businesses.”
