Bobby Jenks’ New Look Windy City ThunderBolts Open ‘24 Season Thursday

CRESTWOOD, IL — A new era of Windy City ThunderBolts baseball opens the 2024 season at home this Thursday, May 9. Game time is at 6:35 p.m. at Ozinga Field, 14011 S. Kenton Ave., Crestwood, against the Evansville Otters, for the Bolts’ 25th anniversary season.

Chicago White Sox World Series Champion and new ThunderBolts' Manager Bobby Jenks takes over the new look Bolts for a 13-game homestand through May 26. The Bolts then embark on the toughest road trip of the season for 15 out of the next 18 games.

The first 500 fans 21 and over will receive a complimentary pint glass courtesy of Lakeshore Beverage, or a can koozie from JULIE, Inc.

It’s also Thirsty Night Thursday, which means amazing beer specials are served all night long, featuring $1.75 retro beers (Busch Light, Natural Light, Old Milwaukee); and $2.75 domestic (Bud, Bud Light, Mich Ultra, PBR and Old Style 16 oz cans and draft). All Seltzers and Craft Beer selections are just $4.

All Tuesday through Friday home night games will start at 6:35 p.m. Saturday nights start at 6:05 p.m. and Sundays are 1:05 p.m. “School and Splash Days” will be a big part of summer at Ozinga Field, as usual. The 2024 season features nine 10:35 a.m. starts between May and August.

And, of course, kids run the bases after every home game all season long.

The Bolts have all kinds of tricks up their sleeve for the 2024 season, including 16 fireworks nights, ten giveaway nights, five character nights, and five live music nights, along with weekly promotions.

After Thursday games (except for opening night) hang out after the game for wrestling.
