Gas Price Update: Gas Prices Set New Records Around Alsip-Crestwood

If you're ready to hit the road around Alsip-Crestwood, take a look at the lowest gas prices nearby before you fill up. It's not pretty.

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD — Alsip-Crestwood residents are getting squeezed hard at the pump as gas prices continue to set record highs in Illinois and across the United States.

The average price of gas in Illinois is about $5.50 per gallon Thursday , according to AAA. That's a 24 cent increase from just a week ago, and up a whopping 91 cents from a month ago.

In Cook County, the average price for a gallon of gas was around 16 cents over the state average on Thursday at about $5.96 per gallon.

The cheapest gas in Cook County Thursday was at Sam’s Club, 603 River Oaks West, Calumet City, selling for $5.29.

But, if you know where to look, you can find cheaper gas prices throughout Cook County.
In Alsip-Crestwood, the cheapest gas Thursday was at Mobil, 4000 W. 127th St., Alsip, at $5.89.

Rounding out The Top 5 states in gas price averages Thursday were California at $6.40, Nevada at $5.87, Washington at $5.51, and Oregan, $5.50 (tied with Illinois) according to AAA. Georgia had the lowest national gas price average at around $4.47.
