Gas Price Update: Pump Pain With Record Highs Around Alsip-Crestwood
Gas prices are at record highs in and around Alsip-Crestwood, so before you fill up the tank, take a look at the lowest gas prices nearby.

ALSIP-CRESTWOOD, IL — Alsip-Crestwood residents are feeling the squeeze at the pump with gas prices at a record high in Illinois. The average price of gas in Illinois was at about $4.79 per gallon Thursday, according to AAA. That's up 25 cents from a week ago.
In Cook County, the average price for a gallon of gas was around 25 cents over the state average on Thursday at about $5.05 per gallon.
But, if you know where to look, you can find cheaper gas prices throughout Cook County.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Cook County Thursday was selling for $4.57 per gallon at Costco, 7300 S. Cicero Ave., Bedford Park. Most gas prices for a gallon of regular are hovering around $5 in both communities. Here are some other places you can save in and near Alsip and Crestwood:

Nationally, the average gas price Thursday was about $4.42 per gallon, also a record high. Illinois' gas prices ranked No. 5 in the lower 48 of the county. Rounding out the rest of the Top 5 states in gas price averages Thursday were California at $5.86, Nevada at $5.12, Washington at $4.91 and Oregon at $4.88, according to AAA. Georgia had the lowest national gas price average at $3.95.
