'Sparks In The Park' Free Fireworks Show Blasts Off Thursday At Ozinga Field

CRESTWOOD, IL — Watch the night sky light up over Crestwood at Ozinga Field, Thursday, July 3 , for a spectacular fireworks display and free family flick in the ballpark. The Village of Crestwood and Crestwood Recreation Commission are teaming up to present “Sparks In The Park” at Ozinga Field, home of the Windy City ThunderBolts.

Fans are welcome to walk on to the stadium’s synthetic turf field, spread a blanket and enjoy a picnic in the park.

Gates open at 6 p.m., followed by the classic 1993 flick "Sandlot," that will be beamed on the Windy City ThunderBolts’ video board at 7 p.m. After the film, there will be an awesome fireworks show, so get those ooohs and ahhs ready. “Sparks In The Park” is FREE.

Outside food and drink are allowed in the ballpark for the event. Fans are asked to help keep the ballpark clean by picking up food and litter and throwing it away, even spilled popcorn. Lawn chairs are allowed on the field, but chairs must have flat rubber bottoms so as not to pierce the turf. This will be strictly enforced. No peanuts or seed products are allowed inside the stadium.
