Windy City ThunderBolts Open 2023 All-Star Season This Weekend

CRESTWOOD, IL — Hey, hey and holy cow! The Windy City ThunderBolts kick off the all-star summer of 2023 this week at Ozinga Field, 14011 S. Kenton Ave., Crestwood, with a six-game homestand.

New manager Richie Sexson and his ThunderBolts open the 2023 season against the Schaumburg Boomers May 11 through May 13.

And, of course, kids run the bases after every home game all season long.

Below is your season opening home stand preview:

Opening Night, Thursday, May 11, 6:35 p.m. – The Bolts take on the Schaumburg Boomers. The first 500 fans 21 and over will receive a complimentary pint glass courtesy of Lakeshore Beverage, or a can koozie from JULIE, Inc.

It’s also Thirsty Opening Night, which means amazing beer specials are served all night long, including $1.50 retro beers (Busch Light, Natural Light, Old Milwaukee), and $2.75 Bud, Bud Light, Mic Ultra, PBR and Old Style 16 oz cans and draft. All Seltzers and Craft Beer selections are just $4.

Fright Night with Postgame Fireworks, Friday, May 12, 6:35 p.m. — The first post-game fireworks show blasts off after the Boomers game. Fans can pick up a baseball card set giveaway (while supplies last) courtesy of Trinity Christian College.

Take advantage of the Friday Night Combo Special for Friday night games only. Get two upper level seats, 2 hot dogs, and 2 beer/soda/waters for just $23. THIS DEAL MUST BE PURCHASED BEFORE THE DAY-OF-THE-GAME. Purchase tickets by calling 708-489-2255, online or in-person at the Ozinga Field box office. Saturday, 6:05 p.m. May 13 – It’s Roblox/Minecraft Night with postgame fireworks at the old ball yard. Young gamers will rejoice as the Bolts host their first ever Roblox/Minecraft Night, featuring appearances by Minecraft's "Steve" and Roblox's "Builderman" courtesy of Happy Kids Chicago. The first 500 kids age 12 and under will receive an inflatable Minecraft pickaxe.

Value Tuesday, May 17, 6:35 p.m. – The Bolts take on the Trois-Rivieres Aigles in the second leg of the homestand. Two great deals on Tuesday night as all box seats and hot dogs cost just $2 each (deal not valid for 10:35 a.m. Tuesday day games).

School Day I and II, 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 17 – The homestand continues against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles. All schools around invited to bring out their students on a special field trip to a 10:35 a.m. baseball game. The Bolts will have an educational and safety presence at the game to enhance the student's experience. Tickets start as low as $6! Bring your own lunch or have a hot dog, chip, and water delivered to your seats for an additional $4. Ask the Bolts about their special unbeatable bus rates available for schools coming out to the ballpark. Finally all kids run the bases after every home game. All summer long:

Military And Seniors Appreciation Day, Wednesday and Sunday — Also, every Wednesday and Sunday is Military Appreciation Day. Any veteran or active military member receives two tickets to that date’s game. Just walk up to the ballpark box office on the day of any Wednesday or Sunday home game and show your military ID.
Also, on Wednesday nights only, older adults age 55 and older can get one free ticket to that night's game. Stick around after the game karaoke.
