Windy City ThunderBolts open the 2017 with an action-packed weekend featuring giveaways, fireworks and more this weekend, May 12-14.

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Get your pencils and scorecards ready because the Windy City ThunderBolts open their first home stand of the 2017 season this weekend. The new season gets off with a bang with giveaways, fireworks and a cancer survivor victory walk on the field. It all happens May 12 through May 14 at Standard Bank Stadium, 14011 S. Kenton Ave. in Crestwood.

Friday, May 12 at 7:05 p.m.: Opening night 2017 gets underway with the 'Bolts' first home game of the season against their Frontier League rival Washington (Pennsylvania) Wild Things. Standard Bank Stadium is also introducing $3-U-Call-It Fridays where any beer or well mixed-drink in the stadium is $3. This includes all craft and premium beers. Don’t worry, the traditional $1.50 Friday beer special will also be available. The first 500 fans 21 and up will get a free Bottle Koozie from JULIE, Inc. and a Pint Glass from Lakeshore Beverage. Kids can run the bases after every non-fireworks home game courtesy of Andy’s Frozen Custard.

Saturday, May 13 at 6:05 p.m., Fireworks and Goose Island Night: The Windy City ThunderBolts and Goose Island Beer Company out of Chicago are proud to announce Goose Island Night. For just $30 fans can sit in the box seats and enjoy just under 100 ounces of beer including tastings from some of Goose Island’s rarest brands. Finally cap the night off with the Thunderbolts’ famous post game fireworks show presented by Lakeshore Beverage. Representatives from Goose Island will also be handing out Goose Island giveaways and brewery tours.

Sunday, May 14 at 2:05 pm, Family Day, Petting Zoo, and Cancer Survivor Night: The ThunderBolts and the Cancer Support Center, with locations in Homewood and Mokena, are teaming up on Mother's Day to celebrate "Cancer Survivors' Night" at Standard Bank Stadium. The Center will host a survivor walk around the field and balloon launch before the game and get autographs and play catch on the field after the game! The Cancer Support Center is selling special $5 tickets where 100-percent of the sales will go to the CSC. Purchase tickets on behalf of the CSC online and enter the promo code CSC to get the special rate.

It’s also the first Family Day Sunday of 2017, which are back and better than ever, sponsored by JULIE, Inc. Get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 chips, 4 sodas, AND 4 ThunderBolts hats for just $50. (Get the deal without the hats for $40) This deal is NOT available on-line! Also during the game from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., the real wild things take the field with a fantastic PETTING ZOO for the kids. This show is presented courtesy of Animals for Awareness - Palos Park and will be held on the main concourse behind home plate. Finally after the game all fans are allowed on the field to run the bases, get autographs, and play catch in the outfield.

Tickets: Single game tickets are $9 for the lower deck box seats if purchased before the date of the game ($11 at the gate); and $7 in the upper deck if purchased in advance ($9 at the gate).
