Arlington Heights Artist Featured at Harper's Studio V
The work of local artists are featured on consignment at Studio V on the Harper College campus.
Studio V, located on the Harper College Campus features not only art created by students and faculty, but also works of art from members of area communities.Â
One of those artists is Pamela Olin of Arlington Heights, who normally uses steel and creates wall art in the way of picture frames, wall hangings and much more. Â
The studio features juried art, which means it is judged before it is able to be displayed on consignment there.
The normal display time is 90 days. Founder Cheryl Turnauer said if an item does not sell within that time, they will work with the artist to contemplate pricing or drum up other ideas to better market the creations.Â
The consignment includes an 80/20 arrangement; the artists gets 80 percent of the sale price, while Studio V gets 20 percent to help cover its operating costs.Â
Items for sale range from all natural lip balms and lotions, to casual and high-end fashion including wedding dresses and fascinators.
Pottery, paintings, jewelry, furniture, fused glass and numerous other works of art are also available for purchase.
The stipulations are that the art is of extremely high quality, and all of it is handmade. Prices range from 99 cents to $2,000. Â
If you're looking for a unique gift, or want to gaze at some very unique and interesting creations from local individuals, stop by Studio V, located in the V building, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine.
