Arlington Heights Kicks Off Holiday Season With Tree Lighting Ceremony

The festivities will run between 3:45 and 6:45 p.m. and Dickens-era characters will be on trolleys that will loop between two local parks.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The Village of Arlington Heights kicks off the holiday season on Friday with the annual tree-lighting ceremony.

The tree lighting will take place at 5 p.m. with comments from Village Board President Maryfran Leno and Mayor Thomas Hayes. At 4:30 p.m., the Park District Vibe Dance Group and Hersey School Dickens Carolers will perform.

The festivities will also include family fun at Harmony Park between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. as ice carvers will create holiday-themed sculptures. Families will also be able to see real reindeer and will be able to walk inside a giant globe ornament of lights and take pictures inside photo stations around the park.

A professional photographer will also be on hand to take festive photos at no charge.

Trolleys will be looping around Harmony Park to North School between 3:45 and 6:45 p.m. and Dickens-era characters will be on the trolleys sharing stories about Arlington Heights’ history and past.
