Arlington Heights Real Estate Update: Recovery is Happening Now
Home sales are up 31 percent in the area, according to local senior broker at @properties, Holly Connors.

Sales of Chicago-area homes surged more than 31 percent last month, posting the strongest April since the boom.
The Illinois Association of Realtors reports 9,152 single-family homes and condominiums sold in the nine-county area last month, up 31.2 percent from 6,977 sales in April 2012.Â
April marked 22 straight months of year-over-year sales gains as the local housing market continues its recovery. The month was the most active April since 10,401 sold in April 2006.**

In Arlington Heights, April of 2013 boasted a median sales price of $387,000 with 65 homes sold, where April of 2012 showed a median sales price of $359,900 with 39 single families sold.Â
**The Realtors group's sales figures include new and existing homes. Its nine-county Chicago area consists of Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.
