ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Following 17 years of dedicated service to the Village of Arlington Heights — including 14 years as village clerk — Becky Hume retired last week. Throughout her time in the clerk's office, Hume is credited for being a "a driving force" behind the Village's efforts to enhance transparency and modernize its recordkeeping systems.

Maggie Mattio, who has served as a part-time administrative assistant in the Finance Department for the last five years, is assuming the position. She was officially sworn in at Monday's Village Board meeting.

"We are deeply grateful for Becky's many years of dedicated service to the Village," Village Manager Randy Recklaus said. "Her leadership and attention to detail have played an important role in how we serve the public. We’re also fortunate to have Maggie stepping into the role. Her experience, professionalism, and dedication to public service make her a great fit for this important position."
