Dead Squid On A Car, Stolen Fried Chicken: Arlington Heights Blotter
The Arlington Heights Police Department handled criminal complaints including suspects throwing eggs at a car and leaving dead squid behind.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – The Arlington Heights Police Department handled a number of criminal complaints over the past week ranging from vandalism to theft and burglaries to vehicles belonging to local residents.
VANDALISM
Police were called to the 700 block of Braeside Drive in the early morning hours of March 28 where a resident reported that unknown suspects threw eggs at her car and placed dead squid on the trunk of her vehicle.

Police were called to Happiness Park on North Verde Drive where police said that unknown suspects had used colored markers to draw on park equipment. The cost to remove the drawings was $200, police said.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

Police were called to the Holiday Inn in the 2100 block of Arlington Heights Road where a person reported that the catalytic converter had been taken off of his 2019 Nissan. The cost replace the catalytic converter was about $3,500.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE
Police were called to the McDonald’s in the 1900 block of Arlington Heights Road on March 29 where a person reported that their vehicle had been keyed.
THEFT
Police were called to the Berry Yo on North Vail Street on March 30 after employees reported that an unknown suspect walked into the restaurant and stole four cups of yogurt. The suspect was described as being male between the ages of 18 and 20 and wearing a black North Face jacket, black sweatshirt, and sweatpants.
BURGLARY TO A VEHICLE
Police were called to the Golden Corral on East Palatine Road on March 31 after a person reported that the rear driver's side window had been smashed and a suspect had taken the owner’s purse which contained credit cards, driver’s license, and cash.
AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM
Police were called to The Pointe Apartments on Woods Drive after residents heard multiple gunshots and saw a blue Dodge Charger and gray Jeep leaving the area on Rand Road. Officers found several shell casings in the area and a second person reported that the driver had been in the Dodge Charger.
BURGLARY
Police were called to Jesrun Presbyterian Church on Rand Road on April 1 where church personnel said that an unknown person had entered an unlocked office and forcibly entered another office and closet.
RETAIL THEFT
Police were called to the Jewel on North Vail Avenue where employees said someone walked into the store and took a bag of fried chicken and left without paying. The person was described as a 16-year-old male wearing a black sweatshirt with white sculls and dark-colored pants.
