Armed Buffalo Grove Man Killed In Arlington Heights: Police
The death of an armed man inside an Arlington Heights home is under investigation by police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The death of an armed man found inside an Arlington Heights residence is under investigation, police announced Saturday. Officers responded to the 2400 block of North Evergreen Street Avenue at approximately 1:57 p.m. after a resident of the home called 911 reporting a man with a gun in the home who was likely shot. Officers confirmed this intial report and all residents of the home were located and brought to safety, police said.
The Northern Illinois Police Alarm System was requested to secure the residence but upon entry, officers discovered the intruder, who was later identified as 58-year-old Larry D. Brodacz of Buffalo Grove, dead on the second floor, according to police. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death as a homicide.
An accomplice who fled the scene was taken into custody. Detectives are working with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office to bring charges against this person of interest, police said.
