Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Joins National Night Out 2018 Lineup
The Arlington Heights event, which was ranked 7th in the country last year, also will feature police K-9 demos and other activities.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Since 2005, Arlington Heights has participated in the National Night Out celebration, and the village's event was ranked seventh in the country in 2017, the highest ranking for an Illinois community. This year's outing will continue to build on that past success and include an appearance by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
The family-friendly event will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at North School Park, 410 N. Arlington Heights Road. It's part of a national campaign to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Along with the Wienermobile visit, this year's National Night Out will include the following activities and demonstrations:

- vehicles and a display trailer from the Illinois Conservation Police
- a simulated hazardous material clean-up by the Arlington Heights Fire Department
- dogs from the Arlington Heights Police Department's K-9 unit performing "bite work" and vehicle extractions
- children's games, bounce houses, face painting and a business expo by the Arlington Heights Park District
The park district also will provide free drinks and popcorn, and several food trucks will be on hand.
