Police Searching for Suspect Who Grabbed Arlington Heights Woman
Arlington Heights police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who physically accosted a local woman on June 17.
Arlington Heights police are searching for a suspect who approached a 23-year-old female from behind on June 17 just after 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Happfield Dr. The offender grabbed the woman around the neck with both of his hands, according to the Crime Alert from the Citizen Observer.Â
Police say the unknown offender, who is described as a very thin, black male in his mid 20's, standing approximately 6'5" and wearing a light colored baseball cap, a baggy dark colored shirt, blue jeans and white shoes at the time of the incident. (see police sketch).Â
The female victim was exiting her vehicle in an apartment building parking lot on N. Happfield Rd. when the offender came up behind her, and ordered her out of the car. The woman was able to push the offender away and reach her keychain which had a pepper spray canister attached to it.
She sprayed the offender, and he left the area heading northbound from the parking lot. She fortunately sustained no injuries.
