Porsche Stolen From Parking Lot: Arlington Heights Police Reports

Police are again reminding everyone that vehicle burglaries and thefts are preventable, so lock your cars, take your keys and valuables.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Police Department responded to the following reports in recent days:

Vehicle theft

Police said an unknown offender or offenders stole a black 2017 Porsche UT with an Illinois license plate between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., Aug. 6, from a parking lot in the 100 block of E. Algonquin Road. According to police, the victim left the Porsche unattended with the keys still inside.

Diamond stolen

Police said an unknown offender or offenders illegally took a diamond from a shipping envelope in the 0-100 block of North Dunton Avenue (Mitchell's Jewelers) between 2:52 p.m., Aug. 7 and 11:37 a.m., Aug. 8, after the diamond had been sent out for cleaning and repair. According to police, the value of the diamond is unknown.

Parts stolen off of car

Police said an unknown offender or offenders illegally removed the front driver's side wheel (tire, rim, hub cap and lug nuts) from a car between 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Aug. 14 while it was legally parked in a designated parking stall in an apartment complex parking lot in the 2400 block of N. Kennicott Drive. According to police, the total value of the stolen property is $280.

Gas station burglary

Police said an unknown offender or offenders got inside a Citgo gas station in the 1300 block of E. Palatine Road by breaking a window between 9 p.m., Aug. 14 and 6:35 a.m., Aug. 15. According to police, tobacco products were taken from the gas station, and the total retail value of the stolen items is under investigation pending a complete inventory by gas station staff.
