Suspect In Fatal Schaumburg Shooting Surrenders To Police

Police have not identified the man who was taken in to custody stemming from Monday's shooting that killed Quentin D. Tillison, 38.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A man surrendered to Schaumburg police Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this week. Quentin D. Tillison, 38, died Tuesday from a single gunshot wound to the stomach he received during an argument with another man Monday in front of the Walgreens drug store in the 1100 block of Roselle Road. A release by police Wednesday did not identify the man in custody nor did it indicate whether charges had been filed against him.

The suspect, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself in Wednesday after detectives executed search warrants earlier in the morning at locations on Cambridge Lane in Schaumburg and Century Point Lane in Glendale Heights in an attempt to arrest him, police said. Detectives have been working with the NIPAS Emergency Services Team and the Major Case Assistance Team in the investigation. They also have been interviewing family, friends and witnesses, the release stated.

According to police, the shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, during a dispute between Tillison and another man who investigators believe to be an acquaintance of Tillison's. After shooting Tillison, the gunman allegedly fled the scene in a light-colored SUV, police said. Tillison was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he died from his injuries at around 2:09 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15. (Get Patch real-time email alerts for the latest Arlington Heights news.
