Drunken Driver Endangers Life Of Children: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

ARRESTS

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARMS/AMMUNITION

Davarion Austin, 18, of the 1700 block of Ontarioville Road, Hanover Park, is accused of unlawful possession of firearms/ammunition, and was arrested at 1:01 p.m. Dec. 20, in the 2200 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 28, 2026.

RETAIL THEFT

Scott A. Benner, 44, of the 3800 block of W. Ogden Avenue, Chicago, is accused of retail theft, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Dec. 20.

ASSAULT

Kenneth Gagnon, 59, of the 2500 block of N. Talman Avenue, Chicago, is accused of assault, disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Dec. 21, in the 2200 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 28, 2026.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Maksat Halmammedov, 32, of the 300 block of Woodcreek Road, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 12:06 a.m. Dec. 20, in the 1400 block of N. Winslowe, Palatine. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 13, 2026.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Jerry M. Pearson, 37, of the 20 block of W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of two counts of possession of a controlled substance, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Dec. 19, in the 20 block W. Algonquin Rod, Arlington Heights. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 29, 2026.

ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF A CHILD

Hugo D. Avalos Sanchez, 43, of the 900 block of Mark Lane, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, resisting a peace officer, two counts of endangering the life of a child, and was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Dec. 13, in the 1400 block of E. Hintz Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 21, 2026.

THEFT

Jercobie I. Funches, 44, of the 1500 block of W. Court Street, Kankakee, is accused of theft, criminal trespass to real property, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 4:17 p.m. Dec. 14, in the 10 block of W. Algonquin Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 28, 2026.
