SUV Crashes Into Bank When Driver Pushes Wrong Pedal: Cops

No one was hurt in the accident Tuesday morning at the Arlington Heights branch.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — No one was hurt when an SUV crashed into an Arlington Heights bank Tuesday morning. The driver told police the accident happened when she accidentally hit the gas pedal, the Daily Herald reports.

According to police, the crash happened at around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the BMO Harris bank branch in the 200 block of Palatine Road, the report stated. The driver, 40, had been delivering papers when she accidentally pushed the wrong pedal, sending the vehicle barreling through the branch's window, the report added.

Police said no one was in the bank when the crash happened, but significant damage was done to the building, the report stated. The driver wasn't ticketed in the crash because it was accidental and happened on private property, the report added.
