Wellington May be Purchased by School District 59
The vacant, 20,000 square foot building is located next to the school district's administrative offices. The school board approved nearly $2 million to purchase the site at 2121 S. Arlington Heights Road, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The lonely and vacant, former Wellington of Arlington restaurant and banquet facility could soon see new life after Community Consolidated School District 59 voted to approve nearly $2 million to purchase the property at 2121 S. Arlington Heights Road, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The superintendent said student enrollment is increasing and space is needed for teacher training, the Chicago Tribune reports. Inspection of the property, which is located next to D59's administrative offices, is currently underway before the purchase is final.Â
In an Arlington Heights Patch report in December, 2012, John Melaniphy, business and development coordinator for Arlington Heights, said due to financial difficulties, the popular restaurant and banquet hall at the south end of the village went up for sale in 2009.Â
