Woman Fatally Shot Outside Schaumburg Marriott Hotel: Police
Police responded to the hotel Friday night after receiving a report of a person with a gunshot wound.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A woman was shot and killed outside a Marriott hotel in Schaumburg on Friday night, according to police.
Schaumburg police officers responded to the hotel at 50 N. Martingale Rd. around 10:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a person with a gunshot wound, according to a statement from the department.
Police said the shooting happened in the parking lot near the hotel's entrance.

The woman was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where she later died, police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Christine Moyer, 45, of Galena, Ohio, according to FOX 32.

Authorities took one person into custody following the shooting, and a gun was recovered at the scene. According to police, the suspect and victim were known to each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Police did not identify the person in custody. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
