Aurora Police Look To ID Fleeing Driver In Crash With Pedestrian

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car while crossing the Indian Trail Road bridge in late February.

AURORA, IL — Aurora police are asking for the public's help identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash with a pedestrian in the early morning hours of Feb. 23.

A pedestrian was crossing the Indian Trail Road bridge from north to south between Route 25 and Route 31 when they were struck by what was described as a white Toyota sedan reportedly driven by a woman with blond hair, according to a news release.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. The person has since been discharged and is recovering at home, police said.

"Despite a thorough investigation, including review of nearby surveillance cameras, no leads have been identified," officials wrote in the release. "The Aurora Police Department is now turning to the community for assistance."
