'Bachelorette' Contestant Makes People Sweat in Aurora

AURORA, IL — One of the contestants on this season of "The Bachelorette" knows how to turn up the heat on television, but he also makes people sweat in person.
Aurora-area native Mario Vassall was given a rose on Monday night and advanced to the next round. Two days later, he was in downtown Aurora doing what he does best — helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Vassall is a certified personal trainer and owner of fitness company, Inspired by Rio. He visited Aurora City Hall during Staff Appreciation Week to lead a group of municipal employees in an afternoon workout routine. The theme for the day was #WorkoutWednesday.
Many of them admitted fans of "The Bachelorette," staff participants voluntarily engaged in a 30-minute intense routine before taking photos with the local celebrity.

The City’s Staff Appreciation Week concludes Friday with the annual staff cookout.
Vassall earned the first impression rose on the premiere episode of this season of The Bachelorette and has continued to advance the past two weeks.
He is a resident in neighboring Naperville, Illinois.
