Bomb Threat Closes Aurora University Thursday

A university employee received an emailed bomb threat Wednesday night, but it wasn't seen until after the "threat time" passed, police said.

AURORA, IL — Aurora University officials urged students to leave campus Thursday after discovering a “non-specific” bomb threat.

Someone associated with the university received a bomb threat through their email Wednesday night, but the threat was not seen until Thursday morning, after the “threat time” had passed, Aurora police tweeted.

Aurora police said they are working with the university’s police department to do a precautionary check of the campus Thursday morning.
