East Aurora D131 Cancels In-Person Leaning Tuesday Due To Wind Chills
The district is offering grab-and-go lunches at each school for pickup between noon and 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
AURORA, IL — All East Aurora School District 131 schools went remote on Tuesday due to the "dangerously cold wind chills" sweeping the Chicagoland area.
District officials made the decision on Monday afternoon to implement e-learning and also cancel all after-school activities.
Preschool students received an email from their teachers with instructions for asynchronous activities, while kindergarten through 12th-grade students were instructed to log into their Google classrooms with their first teacher of the day at 9:30 a.m.

Teachers will have office hours from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. for students who need assistance.
Wind chills as low as 35 below zero are expected Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Conditions will improve slightly during the day, but wind chills won't rise above zero until during the day on Wednesday, Patch reported.

Wednesday morning will have wind chills as low as 20 below zero, but the high for the day will be 26 degrees.
