Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy Ranks Among Best Middle Schools In U.S.
U.S. News & World Report ranked schools based on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare their students for high school.

AURORA, IL — Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy was ranked one of the best middle schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report, East Aurora School District 131 announced.
The school, serving sixth- through eighth-grade students at 157 N. Root St. in Aurora, ranks 121st place out of 1198 schools ranked in Illinois.
Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school. Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy received an overall score of 89.97 out of 100.

"This recognition reflects the excellence in which our students apply themselves to their academics, extra-curricular activities, and service to others. Our students' hard work, staff professionalism and family engagement fosters an environment in which our kids flourish," Principal Brian Valek said in a statement. "While Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy has always received outstanding support from District 131 and the Aurora community, it is gratifying for our school community to receive this prestigious national recognition."
The District 131 Board of Education recognized Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy at its Jan. 13 board meeting by presenting staff with a banner and plaque to be displayed at the school building.

The school focuses on STEM — which stands for science, technology, engineering and math — education. Students engage in rigorous coursework with a strong emphasis on technology integration across subjects to solve real-world problems through project-based learning.
