'The Grinch' Arrested In Downtown Aurora: Police

AURORA, IL — The Grinch is famously “a mean one” but he won’t be bothering any of the Whos down in Whoville this Christmas after Aurora police arrested the green grouch, according to the department.

A body camera video shared Monday by police on social media captured an officer chasing “The Grinch” through Aurora on Friday night after the famous holiday burglar reportedly tried to steal the city Christmas tree near Downer Place.

“Oh man, he’s at it again,” an officer can be hearding saying in the video, as he gives chase while “Run Rudolph Run” plays over the footage.

The officer eventually catches up to “The Grinch,” handcuffs him and places him in the back of a squad vehicle, according to the video.

Police said “The Grinch,” who was being held in city jail, has been charged with theft, damage to state-supported property, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.

“APD reminds the public to lock their chimneys and safeguard their holiday cheer during this festive season,” police said in the video caption.
