Barn Fire Reported in Barrington Hills

The structure caught fire in the early afternoon of Jan. 8.

 

No animals or people were injured in a barn fire in Barrington Hills this afternoon, fire officials say. 

Barrington Fire Chief Jim Arie said the structure caught fire around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 500 block of Penny Road. The barn was fully engulfed in flames when officials first arrived on the scene. Due to the severity of the blaze, a box alarm was pulled.

As of 2 p.m., the fire was under control, Arie said. The cause is still under investigation.
