Barrington First Responders Who Saved Baby's Life Honored
Three Barrington Police Department officers were recently honored for saving baby Scarlett's life back in November, according to police.

BARRINGTON, IL — Barrington Police Department officers were recognized during Monday night's Barrington village board meeting for providing life saving efforts to a baby two months prior, according to a Barrington Police Department Facebook post.
Barrington Police Department Chief Dave Dorn and the Village of Barrington Board of Trustees recognized Officer John McGowan, Officer Jeffrey Risner and Sergeant Michael Gorzelanczyk for their actions, described as "an example of their professionalism and commitment to service," the department wrote on Facebook.
According to the Daily Herald, Claudia Del Fiacco called 911 back in November to report that her now 4-month-old daughter Scarlett was not breathing and didn't have a pulse. According to a report by the Northwest Community Emergency Medical Services System read by Barrington Fire Chief Jim Arie Monday, Barrington firefighters and police rushed to the home where Officer McGowan started CPR on the baby, followed by Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Peterson, the Daily Herald said. Firefighters continued life-saving efforts on Scarlett while in an ambulance to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, the news report added, according to the system account.
