Barrington Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Attack

BARRINGTON, IL — A Barrington man faces an attempted first-degree murder charge for allegations he attacked a family member with a knife Monday evening in Barrington.

Hiep Luu also has been charge with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of Walton Street at about 6:30 p.m. and the victim, and two other family members, were inured in the incident and taken to hospital, according to a news release from the Barrington Police Department.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Luu remains in police custody and is expected to make his initial court appearance in Cook County on Wednesday.
