Barrington Swimmers Place at State Meet

The Barrington High School Swimming and Diving team placed 12^th at the Illinois High School Association State Meet this weekend at New Trier High School.

Two athletes placed in individual events. Senior Kyle Ujiiye took 5th place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of :50.16, and senior Jack Strauss placed 9^th the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :46.36.

Strauss and Ujiiye, along with their teammates, had two more  9^th place finishes at the meet: the 200 and 400-yard relays. Strauss, Ujiiye, Sam Miseyka and Sebastian Piekarski had a time of 1:25.69 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Ujiiye, Piekarski, Chris Vega and Strauss clocked in at 3:08.80 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The team’s 200-yard medley relay team took 10^th place with a time of 1:36.21. Athletes on the relay team included Brandon Baranowski, Miseyka, Ujiiye and Piekarski.
