Barrington Teen Fighting Cancer Searching For Missing Dog

The Barrington teen's dog, Xena, is a coonhound-Rhodesian ridgeback mix who went missing Jan. 4.

BARRINGTON, IL — A Barrington teen fighting a rare bone cancer underwent surgery Friday without the support of his dog, who his family said went missing Jan. 4, according to reports. Jack Martin, 13, and his family are searching for Xena, a coonhound-Rhodesian ridgeback mix, who hasn't left Jack's side while he's fought Ewing's sarcoma, his dad Jason Martin told WLS-TV.

The family said Xena might be scared, so if spotted, she probably shouldn't be chased.

Martin is getting support from the public and none other than Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
