BHS Students Attend World Nobel Peace Prize Summit

The 2012 World Summit Of Nobel Peace Laureates kicked off in Chicago this week.

Barrington was watching as the world's Nobel Peace Prize winners came together this week in Chicago. 

Barrington High School students, parents and community members were in attendance at both the opening ceremonies and summit itself. 

Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter and former presidents Mikhail Gorbachev of the former Soviet Union and Lech Walesa of Poland were some of the prize winners in Chicago. Former president Bill Clinton gave the keynote address on Monday evening.

15 of the students who watched the opening ceremonies were part of the Barrington Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council who were downtown as part of their annual field trip to learn about philanthropy.  They also met with Bob Muzikowski, George McAndrews, and Alan Krashesky.
