Bomb Squad At Barrington High School After 'Swatting' Incident: Police
"Police have confirmed this event is related to a growing hoax trend known as 'swatting,'" authorities said.

BARRINGTON, IL β Bomb threats created disruptions Monday at Barrington High School, according to authorities.
The Cook County Bomb Squad searched the campus and determined it was safe for students and staff to return Tuesday, although the school will be closed overnight, Superintendent Robert Hunt and Chief David Dorn said in a message shared around 3:30 p.m. on Facebook.
βPolice have confirmed this event is related to a growing hoax trend known as βswatting,β which has been occurring in school districts across the country,β the message said.

Psychologists, counselors and social workers will be available Tuesday as needed and all testing set for that day will be rescheduled, according to the message.
