Authorities say Dolan appeared to be under the influence at the scene of the crash.
"Further investigation revealed Dolan was indeed driving under the influence of alcohol, and had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system," according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Dolan requested to go to the hospital due to a medical issue. He was admitted to the hospital and later released. Dolan was taken into custody on Sunday and taken to the Lake County Jail where he remains behind bars.
Dolan is expected to appear for an initial court hearing on Tuesday.
