It didn’t take long for a Barrington catering company to go from the new guy in town, to an extremely popular business. Since opening its doors in November 2010, Wild Asparagus Catering co-owner Jeramie Campana says business is booming.
The Barrington native and graduate started the company in Crystal Lake back in 2008 but always wanted to bring it back home to Barrington.
“We always wanted to move back to Barrington, but there’s only so much space here,” he said. “A space fell into our lap, so we took it.”

Wild Asparagus is a unique catering company. It doesn’t offer traditional menus like you’d see at other establishments. Everything is done custom for each client.
“We’ll have a customer call us and say, ‘Can you make Aunt Martha’s spaghetti sauce?’ And we’ll say, ‘Sure!’” Campana said. “We’ll do whatever people want. We’ll give suggestions, but this is where we’re different from other caterers.”
Wild Asparagus does offer several pages of menu selections on its website at www.wildasparaguscatering.com. It also has hors d’oeuvres in the freezer available for purchase at the store.
Campana says his business is more than just food. It is a one-stop shop for parties and events.
“We are capable of handling every aspect of an event,” he said. “We can do full-on wait staff, bartenders, tents and flowers. There is no need for an event planner anymore.”
