Discuss Possible Changes to District 220 Calendar at Public Forum
The forum is scheduled for May 14 at the Early Learning Center.

A public forum is scheduled for May 14 with the Input 220 Advisory Council - a group of parents, community members and educators who are studying possible changes to the district's calendar.
The public forum is Tuesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at the Early Learning Center, 40 E. Dundee Rd., adjacent to the Prairie Campus Middle School campus. The forum will allow community members to hear, see and comment on the various options being considered. Input 220 is a 35-member advisory committee charged by the Board of Education to research and recommend whether the two semesters should be realigned so the first semester would end at the traditional winter vacation and the second semester would begin immediately following the vacation. Any changes to the calendar would not occur earlier than the 2014-15 school year.

At the May 14 forum, Input 220 members will discuss the rationale for this study before presenting their preliminary findings, including various calendar options that may eventually be revised and recommended to the Board of Education. After continued discussion, community surveys and at least one more public forum, the Board will receive any recommendations and may make a final decisionregarding possible calendar changes sometime in the coming months. The Input 220 Advisory Council has been meeting publicly and weekly since mid-March.
