21 School Districts In Illinois Recognized For Advanced Placement Programs

The districts were judged on increased access, minority participation and improved scores in the advanced placement program.

The College Board recently recognized 21 school districts in Illinois for their advanced placement programs. The company that conducts the SAT also runs the advanced placement, or AP, program that allows high school students to test for college credit.

The districts were judged on increased access, minority participation and improved scores.

"The AP District Honor Roll recognizes school districts across the U.S. and Canada for increasing AP access to these students while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning AP exam scores of 3 or higher," according to the College Board website. "AP District Honor Roll recipients are committed to expanding the availability of AP courses among prepared and motivated students of all backgrounds."
