3rd Edition Of Batavia Community Hot Sauce Is In The Making
Residents can donate their extra sweet or spicy peppers to be used in the making of this fall's iteration of the hot sauce.

BATAVIA, IL — Gindo's Spice of Life and the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry are collaborating for the third year in a row to develop a batch of the Batavia Community Hot Sauce.
The St. Charles hot sauce company first collaborated with the food pantry in 2023 to create "Fire on the Fox." The hot sauce sold out and raised $1,280 for the pantry. Similar to past years, proceeds from sales will benefit the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.
Peppers can be dropped off from Sept. 9 to Oct. 1 at Gindo's Spice of Life, 2002 W. Main St. in St. Charles. A special drop-off is also planned Sept. 13 at the food pantry tent at the Batavia Farmers Market.

Residents should clean and de-stem peppers and place them in large, labeled Ziploc bags for drop off. Locals picking peppers in advance should store bags in the freezer to maintain freshness.
