See When 30th Season Of Batavia Farmers Market Kicks Off

Almost 60 vendors will be selling their locally grown and farm-raised products in the new season of the Batavia Farmers Market.

BATAVIA, IL — The Batavia Farmers Market is returning Saturday, marking its 30th anniversary.

Nearly 60 vendors are slated to participate each week in the market, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday through Oct. 25 on North River Street.

The farmers market will offer an "expansive selection" of locally grown produce, farm-raised meats and eggs, freshly baked goods and more. Vendors are required to grow, harvest or produce at least 75 of the products they sell.

New vendors will include Rustic Road Farm, featuring produce, soups, salads, simple suppers and meats; River Valley Ranch, selling fresh mushrooms, salsas and pasta sauces; and Pasta Bar, offering a variety of dried pastas.

Flat Tire Farm, Fox Flower Farm, Stamper Cheese, Mighty Greens Farm, Sol Gardens, Crumble, Gandi the Juice Guru, Hufendick Farms, Gindo's Spice of Life and Van Laar's Fruit Farm are among the returning favorites.

The market will accept SNAP benefits and offer Link Match, a United States Department of Agriculture-sponsored incentive that doubles SNAP dollars with the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Every third Saturday of each month, the Artisan Collective will add a creative flair to mornings by showcasing local artisans who craft handmade goods and source vintage treasures.

The weekly event will also feature the return of the Kids Tent, featuring educational and fun activities, as well as live music and local nonprofits tabling.
