BATAVIA, IL — The Batavia Public Library's popular monthy noontime book program, Books Between Bites, is getting ready to kick off a new season.

The 37th season of Books Between Bites will kick off Sept. 18 with Mayor Jeffery Schielke, who is "devoted to finding and noting interesting things about Batavia and its people," the library said. In the season opener, he will discuss some residents and their roles in the writing of a published book.

The series, established in 1987 by the late Lee C. and Betty Moorehead, is held from noon to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month from September to May. The program is free to attend, and no reservations are required.
