Car Stolen, Others Burglarized In Tanglewood Subdivision Are 'Likely Connected': Batavia Police
The burglaries occurred early Thursday morning, Batavia police said.
BATAVIA, IL — A car was stolen and several others were burglarized early Thursday in Batavia's Tanglewood subdivision, police said.
The incidents are "likely connected," officials said in an update Thursday morning.
Batavia police were called at about 3:37 a.m. to the 2400 block of Bird Lane, where a resident reported their white 2024 Toyota Highlander was stolen from their driveway. Surveillance footage indicated the car was taken at about 2:11 a.m. after suspects arrived in a small white SUV, according to a news release.

Police were unable to locate the stolen car or suspects after searching the area, officials said.
Officers were subsequently notified of car burglaries in the 2500 block of Bird Lane and the 800 block of Twin Elms Lane.

There was no evidence of forced entry to the cars, prompting police to remind residents to lock their cars and remove any valuables or keys.
Police continue developing and following leads in the case and working with other law enforcement agencies on the investigation. Officials said nearby jurisdictions have taken similar reports recently.
