The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the lab

The Fermi National Accelerator Lab in Batavia will be hosting an open house on Sunday, Feb. 12.
The event will include a physics carnival featuring displays by local schools. Fermilab scientists will put on a show called "Dynamic Forces", which will explore everyday forces and electromagnetism in an entertaining way. There will be a liquid nitrogen demonstration by "Mr. Freeze," Fermilab scientist Jerry Zimmerman.
More than 2,000 people are expected to attend. The event is sponsored by an anonymous donation to the nonprofit organization Fermilab Friends for Science Education.
