Former Brooklyn Bar Owner To Help Create Drink Lineup For Cocktails In The Park: See Menu
He and a longtime Cocktails in the Park volunteer teamed up to create a lineup of three signature drinks for the upcoming event.
BATAVIA, IL — A former owner of a Brooklyn bar and a longtime volunteer were tapped to craft a "standout cocktail lineup" for the July 26 Cocktails in the Park fundraiser.
Brandon Davey, who used to own The Topaz in East Williamsburg, and longtime event volunteer Jeff Beck created a trio of cocktails that combine "depth, originality, and a little local flair."

- "Shumway and Flinn — Clarified Paper Plane": A sophisticated twist on a modern classic. The bourbon brings rich, oaky warmth; Amaro Nonino lends spiced, caramel undertones; and the Aperol layers in just the right amount of bitter citrus. Balanced, bold and beautiful.
- "Birds and Words — Jungle Bird Variation": A splash of tropical in the burbs. Molasses-forward rum meets pineapple and lime for serious island vibes, while Campari keeps it dry and not too sweet.
- "Whispering Windmill": Light, tart and refreshing. Rhubarb gives a crisp, slightly sour punch, while lemongrass adds clean citrus and subtle spice. Vodka keeps a low profile so the vibrant flavors can shine.
"These cocktails are more than just drinks — they're thoughtfully crafted experiences," Kristen Desler, assistant director of Batavia MainStreet, said in a statement. "Each one showcases not only incredible flavor, but a level of care and creativity that sets this event apart. Guests are in for a real treat this year."
Hosted by Batavia MainStreet, Cocktails in the Park will be back at Appleton Park, located behind City Hall, from 7-10 p.m. on the last Saturday of July. The event serves as the largest single fundraiser for the nonprofit, which supports downtown businesses and operates the Batavia Farmers Market, Artisan Collective and Batavia Boardwalk Shops.
