A man and a woman in a white Jeep SUV offered candy to children before a parent yelled at them, and they fled, police said.

BATAVIA, IL — A group of children was offered candy by two strangers driving a white Jeep SUV on Sept. 25, police said Monday evening.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of 1303 E. Wilson St., near the Woodland Hills subdivision, at about 5:49 p.m. A witness told police that a man and woman drove up to a group of children standing near the fire lane and "repeatedly asked ... if they wanted candy," according to a news release.
A parent yelled at the Jeep occupants to get away from the kids, and the driver sped away in a direction unknown to police, officials said.
