Now landlord is ending leases (bnd.com) — Belleville residents at the Greenmount Station mobile home park are being told their rental leases will end, forcing them either to buy their homes or move out, despite long-running complaints about needed repairs. Tenants describe leaking roofs, mold, flooding, and rising lot rents since Homes of America took over, and at least one family is now suing under Illinois mobile home tenant protection laws.
   

• Cahokia Heights shooting deaths were related and targeted, police said (bnd.com) — A Belleville police captain leading the Major Case Squad says two weekend shooting deaths in nearby Cahokia Heights appear to be related and targeted, and investigators are still searching for a suspect. Authorities identified the victims as Bruce A. Mason of Maryville and Laniya Joyce White of Cahokia Heights. Residents are urged to contact police or CrimeStoppers with any information, even seemingly minor details.
   

• Ronald Cruse (riverbender.com) — Belleville readers are notified that Ronald “Ronnie” D. Cruse, 76, passed away November 30 at Bria of Belleville. The Trenton resident, formerly of Fairview Heights, is remembered as a music lover and devoted family man, survived by his daughter, grandson, great-granddaughters, and many siblings.
