• Rail News - Illinois panel OKs funding for crossing projects on UP, Metra lines. For Railroad Career Professionals (progressiverailroading.com) — State regulators have approved $115,000 to help build nearly 1,700 feet of trespass-prevention fencing along Metra tracks by Fenton High School in Bensenville, improving safety and steering pedestrians toward designated crossings. The village, school district, and state fund will share costs, with work due by June 4, 2026. Another, separate crossing-safety project was also funded in Bureau County. 
• Chicago Industrial Construction Surges, Vacancy Climbs (commercialsearch.com) — Bensenville’s industrial base gets a boost as Axis Warehouse & Logistics renews its full-building lease for more than 300,000 square feet at 500 Country Club Drive, the largest lease renewal in the O’Hare submarket early this year. The deal comes amid a Chicago-area industrial market with rising vacancies but steady construction, investment, and tenant demand.
