Beverly Man Dies After Jumping Into Chicago River To Swim Near Trump Tower

CHICAGO, IL — A Beverly man died Saturday after jumping into the Chicago River for a swim in front of Trump International Hotel and Tower, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. But the Cook County medical examiner's officer was unable to determine a cause of death for Timothy J. Ermon, 24, after an autopsy Sunday, the report added.

Ermon was pulled from the river by a Chicago police diver after emergency crews responded to a call of someone in the water just after 2 a.m. Saturday, June 24, around the 400 block of North Wabash Avenue, the report stated. Paramedics performed CPR on him before he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the report. Ermon was pronounced dead at about 3:19 a.m. at the hospital, the report added. Although the autopsy was unable to single out a cause, the medical examiner's office will be conducting further studies to determine how Ermon died, the Sun-Times reports.
