$1,300 Theft from Unlocked Car, Stolen Alcohol: Bolingbrook Police Blotter

Theft from unlocked car
An iPad, purse, camera, USC and a cell phone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the 100 block of Grant Drive between 6:30 a.m. and 6:35 a.m., police said. The loss was valued at $1,300.

Hit and run
Officers responded to the 500 block of Rockhurst Road for the report of a hit and run, police said. A fence was damaged. Jasmine Coverdale, 20, 113 S. Lancaster Dr., was arrested and charged with reckless driving, hit and run, failure to report an accident and no insurance.

Stolen motor vehicle, resisting a peace officer
A 16-year-old from Lockport was arrested at 12:02 p.m. and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, resisting a peace officer and no valid driver’s license on the 500 block of Remington Boulevard, police said.
Speeding, driving under the influence
Oscar Melgarejo, 21, 14043 S. Largo Ct., Plainfield, was arrested at 2:11 a.m. and charged with speeding, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and DUI following a traffic stop at Bolingbrook Drive and Remington Boulevard, police said.
Speeding, driving under the influence
Andre Weatherly, 23, 167 Wethersfield, Ln., was arrested at 1:32 a.m. and charged with speeding, no insurance, and DUI, following a traffic stop on the 400 block of W. Boughton Road, police said.
Gift cards stolen from safe
Officers responded to a business on the 500 block of S. Bolingbrook Drive for the report of a theft, police said. Two gift cards were stolen from an unsecured safe between midnight and 5 p.m.
Jan. 9
Alcohol stolen
Officers were called to Meijer, 225 N. Weber Rd., for the report of a theft, police said. The suspect took stole bottles of liquor and exited the store without paying at 11:02 p.m. The loss was valued at $99.
Jan. 7
Trailers stolen
A 1996 Stoughton trailer and a 2002 Trailmobile trailer were stolen from the parking lot on the 1000 block of Veterans Parkway, between Jan. 4 and Jan. 7, police said.
Jan. 6
Car keyed
Jose Martinez, 48, 320 Monterey Dr., was arrested at 4:42 p.m. and charged with criminal damage to property after keying a parked vehicle on the 700 block of E. Boughton Road, police said.
