1 In Custody After Meijer Gas Station Robbery: Police

Officers responded to the gas station, at 735 E. Boughton Road, at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a robbery.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A person is in custody after a reported robbery on Wednesday at the Meijer gas station in Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook Police said in a news release.

Officers responded to the gas station, at 735 E. Boughton Road, at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a robbery. Police said the offender had fled westbound on foot, which prompted a large police response to the areas west of the Meijer Gas Station.

Police used K-9s, drone surveillance, citizen tips and a perimeter, and the offender was taken into custody without incident at 8:12 a.m. near Moore Drive and Monet Circle, police said.

Chief Mike Rompa commended his officers "for effectively utilizing the appropriate tools and working as a team to safely bring a potential violent offender to justice."
